To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:
Whereas internal documents show the Liberal government has closed nearly 300 schools since 2011 and;
Whereas there are currently 300 more schools currently under review for closure and;
Whereas local schools play important roles in supporting neighbourhoods and acting as community hubs, but internal documents show that value isn’t taken into consideration by the Liberal government;
We, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows: that there be an immediate moratorium on any further school closures until the process for calculating school utilization rates and the Pupil Accommodation Review Guidelines are both amended.
