Gretzky calls on Ford to support local businesses and workers impacted by the bridge blockade

QUEEN’S PARK - MPP Lisa Gretzky (Windsor West) called on Doug Ford to provide financial relief for businesses and workers impacted by the bridge blockade during question period on Wednesday. She released the following statement:

"The Ambassador Bridge was under a blockade for six days. Windsor’s auto plants were forced to close and send their workers home without pay. Small businesses in the area were forced to close their doors and lost income due to the disruption. These workers and businesses are continuing to suffer the impacts of the convoy protest.

Last week, Windsor was left out as Ford announced financial help for Ottawa small businesses impacted by the protests. Ford is refusing to help Windsor, he has abandoned Windsor workers and businesses.

Windsor families deserve a government that will support them during difficult times. An NDP government would step up and help Windsor-Essex businesses and workers recover from the blockade."
